I am only just getting started with my Journey into WetPlate Photography.
These photos are taken with my 8x10 camera on tintypes. The whole process is a "photography meditation" that allows me to appreciate capturing light one picture at a time. Each picture takes about 10-15min from start to finish and because of the many temperamental variables involved, reminds me to embrace and find beauty in imperfection.
Capturing an instant in time on a plate of silver and see it take shape in my darkroom, provides a moment of magic and joy that reminds me of the sense of wonder and awe I experienced often as a young boy.
